Type Locality and Naming

Named after Mount Mansurata, Tashkent Chul area, Kazakhstan. V.S. Zimmerman, 1939 (494, p. 49). The stratigraphic name is not used.

Synonym: Mansuratinskaya Formation, Мансурятинская св.


Lithology and Thickness

In, Kyzylkum, variegated and red-colored deposits, in the lower part - bauxites, allites, in the upper part - kaolinized clays, claystones, siltstone (aleurolites), sandstones, gravelites, Thickness 20-145m.

Lower contact

With erosion, it lies on the middle Jurassic or Paleozoic

Upper contact

It transgressively overlies the Azatbash Fm

Contains in the upper part large plant remains Coniopteris hymenophylloides (Brongn.) Sow. and others.

A. - attributed to the middle-late Jurassic (494). R.Yu.Muzafarova considered the age of the M. suite to be early Albian (312) O.F.Fedorenko (477) - Valanginian, and the Samarkand conference (383, table 5, p.2) - late Jurassic (see Changi Fm).
